l mean, l know the whole 3 layer system thing, like the base layer 2 layer and outer layer.but the thing is l just dont have alot of money.ok like l have like 273, im spending 217 on a board, boots and bindings today online(i just bought it), so that leaves me with 56 dollars.so l was just wondering what you could wear straight from your closet without spending.l basically have, cotton shirts long and short sleeve, boxers, sweatpants, jeans, sweat hoodies, most of my shirts are from like hollister and A&F if that helps any...

at least get a good jacket & snowpants, that would be a start. Make sure each have breathability & waterproofing ratings of at least 10K each.
When u get more money to spend. l wear all under armour, each layer l have on when l board is made by under armour because l got sick of cheap crap. I've probably got over 1000 dollars invested in my clothing but l spent the last week snowboarding in sub zero temperatures & l was warm the whole time. In fact l was almost to the point of being too hot.
l do know that most people can not spend 1000 dollars at once on clothing, that is why l buy it in small amounts over the years to spread it around. Last year l bought the base layer & snow pants & this year l bought the coat, sweatshirts, pants, socks & hood. You could do this over the course of a few years & end up with high quality clothing on.

Last 56 bucks, buy a descent pair of snow pants.
Check out whiskeymilitia.com
Always have stuff on sale. Good quality & a good price.
As for top, You can where whatever u want on the inside layers. If ur new to the sport, use like a rain jacket or something for the outside layer.
If u can keep from falling, l ride in a Shirt, longsleeve, & a hoodie. Sometimes up to even 4 layers. So just get creative & wear whats comfortable & warm. Just keep the outside layer waterproof.
Also, if its windy & really cold where u go, invest in a bandana to cover ur nose/mouth so they dont chap. 99 cents & a long term investment.

Well you're going to be up on a mountain all day, so u will definitely want some warm, heavy clothing. You obviously all ready know the 3 layer system, but just to put it out there do not wear cotton, steer towards a pair of water-proof snow pants. They're pretty cheap & work well. Mine r from Burton & they're not too expensive if u can find them at an outlet store. With a coat you're going to want something with a decent lining, something that will keep u warm but still breathe out all ur excess warm that can come from ur sweat. For this l would recommend a Columbia coat. A very good amount of breatheable sleeves, they're pretty much all water-proof, & they're not too puffy. Another good thing with these kind of coats is they normally have pockets to hold items on the insides of them. l know my coat has a little pouch near the sleeve is end to put my phone so l can see the time. Now with hats, they're normally all the same. A cheap hat will do & gloves should have the same properties as ur coat. Hope that helps a bit & to let u know, l only spent around $60 on my snowboarding outfit. =] Good luck
