Because it is the easiest Brand to remember and plus their advertising budget must be huge. l will keep my Rossignol and Airwalk thank you.

Same as why everyone buys an Ipod. Not necessarily the best, but it is hyped, seen everywhere, and everyone is getting it.

Burton has a mainstream image. In comparison, Gnu, K2 and LibTech have a more. niche base. sort of vibe.

It is called marketing, u dont really think it costs $600-$1000 to make a board now do you??
But..with that kind of budgeting, u have to give points when it comes to the technology & advancement of snowboards. Yes, other makes out there can be just as good as burton, no arguement there. But when it comes to making advances in the sport, burton is just the top dog. Not many out there can compete on that level. Others can keep up in certain area, l will even say some might advance in certain areas. But as a sport in a whole, burton does have the lead. Bitter truth. They do make some of the best ''out of the box'' boards & gear, which is exactly what most beginners looks for. It is not until they become more advanced when they realize that a lot of companies can give them what they want for cheaper.
Myself, once l got into it a lot more & began to break down the pros & cons of the burton l had & my riding style did l realize that a better board was out there. Companies like happy monkey custom make boards to size, style, likes & dislikes. But most dont realize what that entails until they get out there & ride, & mostly on boards which r bought of the shelf, which r mostly burtons.

the only thing Burton l own is a sweatshirt that l got on clearance--my board is a K2 Nemesis and l love it!!!!!

Nope, not obsessed with Burton. Have a pair of socks that l got for a Christmas gift. l ride Santa Cruz boards, Flux bindings, Vans boots, Vans and Volcom outerwear, Under Armour baselayer, Demon gloves and beanies, and Spy goggles.
