l went snowboarding all last year and l loved it, l could do most of the double-black diamonds in Western Maryland. Ive mostly been looking at Lamar snowboards because they are cheap. l wanna get a new snowboard set (board, boots, bindings) for under 250 dollars. Help me!?

Complete boarding sets for under $250 might be stretching it. There r two trains of thought on buying boards right from the get go.

One side, thinks u should go cheap. Get something used or whatever gear is around & then, eventually build ur skills up & then move up to the big boys (Burton) later on.

The other side, thinks u should get good/great gear from the get go so u will be set for awhile. Plus spending some cheese up front on sweet gear, will make u look, ride & feel better.

l am of the latter group. Personally, if you're serious about boarding (and it seems like u are) buy some nice gear. Do not chintz & get the low end stuff especially since u know you're going to be riding a lot (weather permitting). l started, literally, about 5 months ago. Had all hand-me-down gear which anyone would've been happy to receive. Got free board, bindings, clothes etc. l had to buy new boots but whatever. After a couple (3 to be exact) times out, l said screw it. l want the good stuff. So, over the next two months, l proceeded to spend over a grand on some sweet gear. All Burton setup with some Columbia snowboarding gear.

l know l will be out on the slopes whenever the weather permits. Now, that l have nice gear, l look forward to doing & l know that l have some of the best gear out there & not whatever was the cheapest u know? Plus, spending money (a lot of money) on this stuff forces u to do the most important thing. It MAKES u want to go out & board since u can not bare seeing nearly $1000+ worth of gear going to waste. It is a mental game. Trick yourself into wanting the good stuff.

And, you're in the best time of the season too. Check ebay (that is where l got all my stuff) now since the season is over. Everyone will be wanting to get rid of their stuff to make room for next years gear. You can score a lot of board combo deals now or u can a la carte it & hand pick whatever u want. Personally, pick out the stuff YOU like. Granted, money plays a factor in this however, u will feel better if u know u got something u wanted instead of something you're okay with settling on.

buy board and other stuff used. its much cheaper and the equipment is not bad if you research what your buying

you wo not find a nice set up at that price.

Start looking now, older model stuff is cheaper, and now that the season is pretty much over its great.

under 250 is hard for a good setup. l cant tell u what size beacause theres alot more that goes into that than just height & weight. get someone in a store to tell u what size board to get (length & width). unless u can get a good deal on a used board youre only really going to be able to get beginner boards. l still use my beginner board which was actually really nice. my first setup was a $100 rossignol board, $100 burton bindings, & $90 morrow boots which l got from sports authority. thats about as close to 250 as l think youre gonna get.
