Ok I am writing a compare and contrast essay for my class and l was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how Snowboarding is better than skiing, l only need the pros, not the cons.

It is not.duh.

for one its easier then skiing, cause you do not have to worry about your legs crossing up. l could never learn how to ski over the years, the first time l went snowboarding l was pretty good and went down a black(expert) trail. l think it really just depends on what you like.

l personally prefer skiing, but here goes:

Snowboards maintain more surface contact with the snow, creating greater stability. This makes landing acrobatic moves easier as well.

You can walk comfortably in snowboarding boots. Ski boots suck to walk in.

You do not have to lug around poles.

The average snowboard will fit in ur trunk.

Snowboarding is trendier now attracting younger (and often cuter) people.

If u get in trouble, it is much easier to just ''sit'' down on a snowboard.

You can not cross ur skis on a snowboard, & ur legs/feet r locked in their relative positions. This helps to avoid a host of possible injuries, particularly knee injuries.

when you crash you do not have to hike back up the hill to get your skis. your board stays on your feet!

l have been snow boarding since l was about 4 and l just have never thought about it till now l guess it just really depends on the person if you like skiing then stay with skiing but if you like to take risks snowboarding is the way to go

riding is not neccesarily better than skiing--its all preference.but if l had to pick:
1. you only have to control one board as opposed to 2 skis
2.. it may be easier, l could not grasp skiing like someone else said even after several attempts..but my first day on a board l was decent, and even better my 2nd day
3. there is a certain vibe that is associated with riding that skiiers dont have
