This winter l wanna start snowboarding so im looking online for some boards, and l found the Burton custom(for guys) and l fell in love with it =]

l decided that l was gonna get the youth 145 because its cheaper and its my size!
is this a good starting board, and is it any diffrent from a ''girls'' board!???

l wouldnt drop 250 for a beginner board, thats a lot of money, and you dont even know if you like snowboarding yet, i'd hold off on dropping that much for a board, especially since you're still growing, and probably wont be able to use it next year.

EDIT: meh. l still wouldnt pay that much for your first board, because its probably only gonna last you one season

unless you're a youth (12 or younger) do not get a youth board. Your going to be too strong for it and it will feel mushy because it is designed to flex under a kid is weight, not an adolescent's. You will be wasting your money

l have gone through three boards & ended up with a Custom 154, with cartel bindings. l find that this is the best fit for me. Your gear is always evolving & u probably wont stay with one board more than a couple seasons if u go often enough. The custom is a great board. Its burton is bread & butter if u will. A lot of the pros use it too. l would recommend u using burton toe cap bindings with it. Cartel for dudes, stilettos for girls. By the way some boards r good for beginners & others r good for pros. l started using this in my 3rd year, with each season having more than 30 days of riding. l can honestly say that this made me a better rider. Its an all mountain board with great pop & is good for powder, park & pipe. But if u r still growing, l would wait unless u have the dough, in which case go for it.

Like someone else said.you probably should not get a youth board, they are not just smaller, they are made differently ( l do not know the specs but usually not as technical) not as strong and just not made for teens/adults.

l have a 148 custom and love it. l am 5'5.5 120 lbs. It was a little hard to get used to at first, l was at low-intermediate level, but now it is all good, l think it will last you a while.
