l only been snowboarding twice before and decided to buy my own board, mostly looking at an all-mountain board. I am going to almost always if not always be riding down slopes and in the powder. I've been looking at the Gnu CHB which is $210 and the Gnu CHB mtx at $280. Which of these are better for slope/powder riding. Is mtx worth the money?

Also, I've been looking at the Burton Custom and Ride Recon, are these better than the Gnu board?

I am pretty much leaning towards the Gnu CHB for $210 and getting Ride spi 08 bindings for $150 which looks like a pretty goood deal. Any suggestions on what boots to get? I am going to go to a store to get the boots but not sure what to look for.

Magnetraction helps keep a good edge hold on rough/icey conditions so if your riding a lot of icey conditions than it is a great choice. Good board overall you should like it for your needs. The burton custom is a decent choice, I'd also checkout the Burton hero or capita horroscope or stairmaster.

The mtx would be worth it if you would be riding on icy slopes, it is a technology owned by lib-tech and gnu that help with carving on icy conditions. If you would be riding powder then the mtx really woulndt be worth the money. l am not sure what would be the best board out of the burton, ride or Gnu, all l know is that they all make good boards.
