k, So right now im in Vail,Colorado, and l snowboarded this evening. So, l havent snowboarded in a while now, like 2 years now, and l was kinda bad the times before, and l have gotten a lot better. Like l have gotten good on my heelsides and toesides. But l have carved and Im ok at it. The only problem is that when l ride on my toeside vertically on the mountain, l kinda get scared to switch back to my heelside. Plus l tryed doing it but fell on my back. What am l doing wrong? Plus l just wanna stop falling. l already hit mywrists very hard, it hurts like Sh*t. And second, Im having lessons. The lessons are split up into 3 sections. Green, Blue, and Black. Green is for beginners(they do things like turn heelside to toeside, vise versa. making turns on different sizes, etc). Blue is for the intemediate. And thats what l signed up for. The blue do stuff like, changes size and rhythm of turns appropriately for terrain,manages speed and turns, rides fronside blues in control,etc. Well l dont know if l will be able to do all of them, and l will be learning in a group and l dont wanna embarrass myself. Any tip and HELP!!!

if your working on toe-to-heel then as your transferring put your weight towards your front foot. This should help your board maneuver itself to heel side. Hope this helps! It worked for me, and l got this advice from an instructor in steamboat CO.

Honestly, l would start by riding slowly but leaning on your heels for a couple runs. Once you get speed, transititon the board so its on its edge but your now leaning on your toes. YOUTUBE it and that helps too, but leARN heelside first since its much much much harder. ice is a whole different story tho.

l had the exact same problem. It helped me a lot to watch people who do it well. Watch people who r confident & carve well, you're in Vail so this should not be hard to find. When you're snowboarding, the most important thing to do is be confident. Try to imitate the way other snowboarders carve. Do not be afraid of the front edge, & stop thinking about falling! When u build it up in ur head, like ''ok. toe edge time. brace for fall.'' that is when u fall for sure. Be confident! It sounds dumb but picture yourself riding ur toe edge like a pro, it will help. Practice switching toe - heel on the green runs for awhile until u can do it & have control.
