are they good ?

l would not get one- they r not very reputable & have very little consumer reviews- l would go with one of the following reputable brands:
1) Rome: a spin off of Burton that makes top quality durable boards
2) Burton: very high quality high tech boards
3) Gnu, Lib Tech, Roxy= Mervin Manufacturing- Magnetraction & Bannana Technology boards- very good
4) Never Summer: Company from Colorado that makes extremely durable boards that r very hard to break & ride very smoothly
5) Forum- another good company
6) Nitro- another good snowboard company
7) Atomic- makes great boards- especially in the stiffer freeride catergory

Anways- try these companies for top quality products that consumers love & trust!!!!!

Just because they r not well known, does not mean they r not good. Artec is a division of Elan Snowboards. From personal expierence, they make a killer board. The reason they r not well known is because they r mainly a Euro brand.

A huge advantage is that they r made in Austria, so u r getting quality materials, unlike some other big names that r made of China wood. They stick with using wood cores so their boards tend to be pretty light & snappy under foot.

Out of all the boards l have ridden over the past 14 years, they r one of the ones l would not hesitate to buy. Hope this helps.

Artecs r kinda the badass experimental part of Elan (check out the funky sidecuts, people seem to love them) Elan also makes a HUGE (maybe the majority) number of boards that other manufacturers stick their names on, including (gasp!) Burton. If u pick a board at random off the rack, chances r it was made by Elan.

Quite a few ppl. l know who work in shops ride Artecs, so that is enough of an endorsement as far as l am concerned.


Haha! l just realized that SnowboarderGirl says that Artec (Elan) does not make a good board, then goes on to praise other companies whose boards r made by Elan.. What is in a name? Apparently quite a bit.
