Well...
l would lovelovelove to learn how to snowboard. I've always wanted to do it. So, this year I am going to learn. My only problem is that l think I will look stupid if l go up with my brand new Burton board all shiny and white.
And l really do not wanna get made fun of too much. Any advice?

Dont worry about what other people say, ski communities are really chill so you have nothing to worry about.. just have fun with it!

You would probably receive a compliment on ur board before you would an insult.

why would you care what other people think of what you look like? your doing this for you right? your doing this because you want to, so do not pay attention to other people and just get out there and have some fun!

l taught my son how to ski & he is good. He wanted to learn how to snowboard, so he tried & tried. It took him much longer to learn how to snowboard. l paid for a few lessons for him, but most of them were a waste of money. The first group lesson he took was the best because he learned the basics. Prepare to get a sore butt while learning. After about six days trying to learn, he finally got it. Go off on ur own on the beginner trail & be persistant. Yeah, kids may laugh a little, dont worry. If u would lovelovelove to learn, then u will.

Hell yeah you should use it! Break that sucker in, and get used to it while you learn. l guarantee you, you're gonna love Snowboarding. It is a blast, and the community is chill as hell. No one is gonna say stuff about your board.. believe me, l snowboard topless all the time and no one cares. :D

You're gonna fall a lot though.. It is definitely worth it.

well if you going to learn to snowboard then l presume you are going to take lessons off a qualified instructor? if so you can always hire a board for your lessons tbh you normally do both when you have lessons but hey it does not matter bout your board.just go out and enjoy,and also expect to fall quite a few times IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS.

No one said anything to me except nice board and good to see you out here.

plenty of people have nice gear and suck, youll be fine, just concentrate on your goals and youll end up having fun. But yeh lots of people are self concious when they go,

l know alot of people who have good gear but are beginners (or suck)..ive been riding for 5 years in a snowboard community..and trust me l know.snowboarders are chill...you will be fine..just crack it in before you go to the mountain..ride around your yard or somewhere? do that to get down basic carving and stuff.or just ride a small hill at your mountain first, and do the falling leaf..and if people are hating..dont take it serious, get good and show em up in the park!

None care is lol just go and do it and have fun..

Just dive in there my friend, if you claim to have such desire, then JUST DO IT, take a lesson if your not sure of yourself. No one will make fun of you, everyone at some point has been there!!!!
