So l have been skiiing for a few years now. It was easy to learn, but l havent really improved all that much. People say its easier to learn to ski then snowboard, but snowboarding is easier to master than skiing. Is this myth accurate?

Yeah, it is pretty accurate. l started skiing when l was 6. And, we all know it is extremely easy to get the hang of. But, when it comes to parallel carving & hockey stopping, things get more difficult & frustrating. l switched to snowboarding when l was about 11 or 12. Learning how to snowboard is not fun. It varies for people, but usually u can not stay up, u can not stop, u can not get off the lift, u hit people, u can not slow down, etc. But, once u get the basics, it is easy to perfect. Mainly because there is only one way to carve & stop. So, yes. It is true.
Doing tricks is different for each too. Rails r pretty lame on skis. But there is more freedom when it comes to jumps. But, they're both fun.
(Snowboarding is my love though :D)

Ive had mixed people tell me different things, Ive been snowboarding for 5 years, when l started it was relatively easy for me because skateboard too so l have better balance, but everyone l talk to says snowboarding is harder, l warn you your first time you WILL fall and it WILL hurt.

snowboarding can be alittle hard to master.. it just takes some practice.and dont give up you will fall on ur butt alot but dont just give up after u do that a few times..but when u do master it its so much fun and u will be really happy!!

l would think controlling 2 skis is harder, snowboarding IS more simple, its gets pretty fun after the first few times, a lot of people switch over to snowboarding for its advantages in the powder

well to learn skiing so well & perfect ,,, it takes a lot of effort , time & maybe money tp pay the coach,,. & u shud be really interested to learn it all & be brave to try all over the slope,.
if u r interested in snowboarding,,,, go for it!! it is not depend on how to ski at all , ! get coach from local ski slop schools located in mountains,, & u will be fine,
for both sport,,,, try all the protection on , & warm up before u start the day,

l think it depends on the person. l have tired snowboarding a lot, & have never gotten good at carving, l always catch an edge. but l do love hitting boxes & rails on a snowboard, its more fun than with skis. l have been skiing since l was about 4, so l have pretty much mastered it, except for big air jumps & spins. l just like riding the powder & tree skiing. But l think l would just stick with skiing. Learning to snowboard sucks until u get the hang of how to carve.
